I highly recommend it.

A few days ago, a young friend of mine asked me what it was like to live my true life. And I thought, isn’t that a nice thing to assume and a complement in and of itself? And the question was innocent and matter of fact and the answer to that part of the question was, “It’s great!”

But it kind of stops you in your tracks, too, a question like that, and it makes you think. I mean, what is living your true life, anyway? Well, according to Google, it’s aligning your actions, beliefs, and choices with your authentic self, values, and inner desires, rather than external pressures, leading to greater fulfillment, integrity, and happiness.

And based on that, I’d like to believe my young friend was right in his assumption. I hope so anyway, because I’ve always tried to live by simple rules based on fairness and kindness and truth and trying hard not to judge others. Not always easy but a goal nonetheless.

I also happen to have a really low tolerance for ignorance, rudeness, hypocrisy and condescension, so there’s that, and I mean that in the truest sense. Which is why I find the current political regime so...false.

So, yes, I guess I’m living my true life, as challenging as that can be at times and has been in times past. But the rewards are honest. And true. And I stand by that and recommend it to everyone.

And especially those in political life, so that they could give it a shot and find out if they are, in fact, the nefarious sychophants so many of them appear to be. Just a thought. I’ll leave you with that. Truly.

to make me somebody else—means to fight the hardest battle any human can fight,

and never stop fighting.”
