and it’s none of my business.

But I know all about it, because I was at the gym and an oblivious young lady was tread-milling next to me, having a very loud, very personal phone conversation through her Bluetooth. Also, Jenny’s breaking up with Steve, but Steve doesn’t know it yet, in case you were wondering.

Poor Eileen. Poor Steve. Poor me for having to listen to this. When did it become “acceptable” to have out-loud conversations with the air, in public places? And why do these rude and not very bright people have to talk so loudly?

Is anyone okay with this? I’ve overheard details about impending divorces and private legal matters discussed as if they’re in a cone of silence, but guess what? They’re not. Thus, the “not very bright” comment.

So, I feel bad for Eileen and I hope she lands on her feet. And I’m happy for Steve, because it sounds like he’s catching a real break here. But perhaps the person I should feel the worst for is our lady of the Bluetooth, because she also openly whined, in that very loud voice, about how much smarter she is than her boss...and she named her boss...and I know her boss..................

So, next time you wonder if anyone might be listening, they are, whether they want to or not, and it may not turn out well...for you.

Time to hang up now.

“Cell phones these days keep getting thinner and smarter.

Unfortunately, people are the opposite.”
