Before you break my heart. Think it o-o-ver.

Once upon a time, not too long ago, there was a group, a magical group possessed of special powers, that joined disparate cultural groups together through the strength of their combined vision and talent and fortitude and empathy...yes empathy...that word we’re not supposed to speak anymore...
They were called the Supremes. And they were. And they had presence and power in their presence, and we all knew that they were special, they were unique, they were brought together by some magical intervention, and they calmed us and challenged us and spoke for us and spoke to us, and we listened and we loved the beat and we loved the hush and we loved the sincerity and we love the yearning for more, for better, for everyone, for all of us.
There was another group, also called the Supremes. And they used to be. And they had presence and power in their presence, and we all knew that they were special, they were unique, they were brought together by some magical intervention and they calmed us and challenged us and spoke for us and spoke to us and we listened and we loved the knowledge and we loved the honesty and we loved the integrity and we loved the yearning for more, for better, for everyone, for all of us.
And now, the first Supremes are gone, long gone, but are still thought of “with love and affection , Look out, it’s comin’ in your direction.” Forever supreme.
And, as for that other group of the other Supremes, well, half of them have been sold to the highest bidder, so their opinions are irrelevant, and the others are fighting for their original vision of Truth, Justice and the American way. As a group, they’ve lost their pitch, have no ear for harmony and are in desperate need of a costume change. Not so supreme, any more.
Bless you Mary Wilson, Florence Ballard and Cindy Birdsong. But we need a little Diana Ross right now.s Am I wrong? I don’t think so.
“Some day, we’ll be together.” she said. And I’m going with that.
“You can’t just sit there and wait for people to give you that golden dream.
You’ve got to get out there and make it happen for yourself.”
– Diana Ross
